After a whirlwind tour of the Berkshires last weekend and a convivial (plenty of G&T's served) cocktail party and annual summer kick off at Schantz Gallery we can report that the show was a great success. Our confidence in the direction of the new work was validated through our favorite medium: dollars and cents! The weekend resulted in several sales as the collectors reacted especially favorably to the new cubes and trapper pieces. Since this blog is undeniably partial to everything Kastal .. let me take off my hat to Steven and the Studio, especially master artisans Benjamin Giguere and Nick McKnight who put in long hours and are executing the master caster's vision in beautiful fashion ..  the team has really gelled and now the proof is in the bank. It's a proud moment for us. Personally, I very much enjoyed viewing such a great cross section of work on display in one venue. Check out some of the highlights below, enjoy!

I really enjoyed the color, form, and movement in these John Kiley pieces .. kind of reminds me of a futuristic take on 1960's hair dryers.

Long canoe type form from Bertil Vallian includes a reposed figure enshrouded with an array of symbols giving an eerie almost ghostly quality to the work like it was unearthed on an Arctic expedition
