Custom Recognition Awards
Custom Recognition Awards
Kastal designs and manufacturers custom glass sculpture for gift giving, to award achievement, to honor excellence, and to bestow special recognition. Whether project based or part of a program that delivers a suite of gifts to cover differing needs, Kastal makes it beautiful.
Gift giving is an art and Kastal can help make it effortless. Too often, organizations do not consider the implications of their gift and award strategies, or worse, do not create a strategy. This should be reconsidered. Gifts and recognition pieces can be strong motivators; good or bad, they leave lasting impressions. Developing a project or program with Kastal ensures that you communicate the right message. Our strategy? Make it beautiful. Beautiful gifts and awards speak volumes about the giver and communicate respect to the recipient. You are what you give, so why not give the best? Beautiful objects enjoy longevity and are displayed in places of prominence by appreciative recipients. What do your current offerings say about your organization?
GTECH engaged Kastal to create a corporate welcome gift for visitors and new employees. As an international gaming technology company, they routinely welcome foreign dignitaries, international employees and partners, and are also called upon to participate in many significant events where gift giving is not only appropriate, but expected. The executive team was looking for something special. After consultation, we designed a gift that was modern, clean, and beautiful. Utilizing the IGT colors we created a laminated cube that refracts light and changes color as the viewer turns the piece. These effects work with the precision geometry and extreme clarity of the solid glass cube to create a feel that is pure tech. Two lenses were cut into the top and bottom of the cube to recall the sphere in their logo and the global nature of their business. A custom wooden base and elegant packaging were designed to complement the piece and enhance the presentation. As the project developed a merger with IGT was announced and it was decided to create a larger 4" cube as a special executive level gift. One of these was presented to the president of the NYSE upon the listing of the new company, a gift giving tradition that requires something a cut above. Kastal is proud to deliver.
Have a need for something special? Tired of the standard catalog? Create something beautiful. Kastal can design an entire gift program to eliminate the frustration and make beautiful gift giving, recognition, and award presentations seem effortless. Consistency, taste, and beauty, ... now that's a good program.

Glass offers interesting possibilities. Turning laminated cubes creates color changes that delight the viewer. Above and below are the same cube seen from different angles. Laser engraving forms inside a piece like the spheres and X-box award below, confound viewers and beg the inevitable question ... how do they do that?

Creating an AIDS free future
The Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF) has a fundamental premise: that AIDS can be beaten. EJAF raises both funds and awareness to combat this terrible disease through its evidence-based grants and policy influence. Founded by Sir Elton John, the organization has grown into one of the worlds largest HIV grant-makers implementing it's philanthropic work on a global scale. KASTAL has been supporting EJAF's efforts by creating and donating gorgeous crystal awards such as the Enduring Vision awards (right) and Hero awards since 2006. The Enduring Vision awards are based on the sumptuously elegant grand piano form and endowed with an extremely difficult to produce pink glass evocative of the EJAF logo. Elton John is an avid glass collector (he owns several large Weinberg pieces) and is thrilled to award these stunning sculptures annually to deserving recipients. We are honored to make them and help this altruistic effort. From EJAF's site: "HIV can be treated, it can be prevented, it can be ended, but only if we care. As much as the fight against HIV is a fight to win attention and funding from governments, it’s also a struggle within each of us to speak out, take action, and show compassion. The past 30 years of the response against HIV has been all about that: our honesty, our courage, our love. So join us in speaking out, taking action, and contributing to the effort to achieve a world without AIDS." For more information please visit EJAF.
Honoring artists and composers who created works at the Nazi 'ghetto' and concentration camp, Terezin
The Terezin Music Foundation is a special institution. Founded to remember artists lost in the Holocaust, it memorializes the music composed and performed by prisoners at the Nazi Terezin camp in WWII. Terezin, or Theresienstadt ("camp ghetto") had a unique role in the Nazi camp history serving as both a propaganda deception for the outside world and a portal to the major death camps. A good history can be found at the U.S. Holocaust Museum site. The camp held many artists and prominent musicians who suffered, composed, and died there or were deported to other notorious death camps. The Terezin Foundation's mission is to preserve that legacy and promote many of the beautiful compositions that were written at the camp including the children's operetta, Brundibar or bumble bee. Kastal was given the special task of casting an actual brick taken from the Terezin site in solid optical quality crystal. This special award is now given annually to honor this extraordinary musical legacy at a special performance by guest composers and members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Please visit the Terezin Music Foundation for more information.
